Be2Can 2017

Visual identity and communication design for film festival Be2Can.

Be2Can is a concept that is distributing top-class movies from three major European film festivals – Berlin, Venice and Cannes. Films are distributed via various platforms – Cinema, TV, VOD, DVD. An annual showcase of the best Art Films major event for the brand and is held in cities across Czech Republic and Slovakia, with major events in Prague and Bratislava. Visitors of the festival had a chance to see award-winning films months before regular distribution. Films like The Square (Cannes 2017 – Palme d'Or) The Killing of a Sacred Deer (Cannes 2017 – Best Screenplay Award), You Were Never Really Here (Cannes 2017 – Best Screenplay Award), A Fantastic Woman (Academy Award 2017 – Best Foreign Language Film) and many more.

The trickiest part of creating the visuals for the event was to communicate the award-winning films, but without any photo material at the time of creating. Therefore, we created a visual system that will work well and didn't depend on photo material from the film licensors. Red stripe as a strong visual symbol helped to unify the communication and was used also as a strong visual element of the identity. The red stripe represents the red carpet of all major festivals. Using a simple red stripe as the main visual element allowed us to put the brand on everything in a very easy way. Basically everything with red stripe was branded
as Be2Can.
